Basement Wall Repair
This basement wall had experienced a structural failure and was pushing inward due to the weight of the soil outside the wall. The floor of the living area above was starting to slope due to displacement of the basement wall, and cracks had resulted in the brick on the exterior of the home. We cored 4” holes in the wall in the location of each anchor. The anchors, rated for 10,000lbs each, were hydraulically driven from the basement deep into the load-bearing soil outside the home.
Inside the basement, we installed metal hardware to connect the anchors to the wall and spread the bracing effect over a larger surface area, grouting behind the metal plates to ensure maximum contact. This robust wall stabilization is capable of holding many times more weight than the maximum load on this wall, meaning this homeowner can be confident the issue is permanently addressed and the possibility of collapse is no longer an issue.
