Floor Repair using Crawlspace Support Jacks
A customer contacted us because the floors inside their home were showing signs of settlement, including gaps opening underneath the baseboards and visible slope in the floors in areas of the home. Additionally, cracks in areas of sheetrock were beginning to form and some interior doors were not closing properly. We used a laser level to accurately diagnose the issue and prescribe a repair using crawlspace support jacks.
After laying out the support jacks to ensure they were in the correct locations, we dug down to strong soil in each location and installed concrete footings as bases for the support jacks. We then measured and cut each pipe to the correct length, and installed the jacks on top of the footing, with each top plate pressing upward on the flooring system. While using the laser level in the finished space to monitor lift, we adjusted the screw apparatus on top of each jack until the floor was pushed back up into original position.
