Seawall Stabilization using Deep Injection Grouting
This customer’s seawall was beginning to experience structural issues due to soil loss from undermining wave action and hydrostatic pressure buildup behind the wall during periods of rain. We installed soil stabilization resin behind the wall to solidify the soil mass around the seawall and close off channels of soil loss.
We added 250 cubic feet of material to the soil mass of a 150ft seawall, resulting in a significant increase in density and resistance to degrading forces. We also installed weep holes in the wall to prevent pressure build-up that could push the wall outward. This value-engineered process means our customer gets many extra years of use out of the seawall before replacement is necessary.
